Welcome to my new website. Please note that the old site is no longer maintained.
I find inspiration in the patterns, textures and colours of the natural world.
The aim of my work is to share my delight in the beauty to be found in the small details all around us – in trees, plants, flowers and roots, rock, stone and water. I also enjoy working on animal subjects, trying to convey their individual personalities. You can see a selection of my work on the Portfolio page.
Colour pencil is my favourite medium, so straightforward to use it enables me to concentrate on the image rather than the technique. I am a member of the UK Colour Pencil Society.
I believe that experiment and play bring fun and creativity to art, and I enjoy trying out a wide variety of subjects, styles and media alongside my more traditional work.
I have exhibited for many years with Southern Nature Art and at a number of well-established shows local to my Hampshire home.
My work was selected for exhibition at the St Barbe Open in 2023 for the eighth year running, and in 2020 one of my Fallen Leaves series was a category winner in the national SAA Artists of the Year competition.
Previously, one of my colour pencil drawings was shortlisted in the National Open Art competition, and two graphite drawings were accepted and hung at the Society of Graphic Fine Art DRAW15 exhibition.
Unique original works together with a selection of affordable high-quality professionally-produced prints and greetings cards are available from my online shop. My shop is hosted by Folksy, the most popular UK site for handmade gifts and supplies, so you can buy securely and with confidence
